The stunningly adorable American Blackbelly Sheep were our first passion as we took up farming and became the inspiration for naming our farm.
Chosen specifically because of their hardiness, thrifty foraging, biological weed control and prolific and strong naturally strong mothering abilities, this registered hair breed has exceeded our expectations. We are raising American Blackbelly Sheep to to selectively grow our flock to a place where we can begin to sell registered breeding stock.
We are also pleased to have a few lambs available each year for meat. As hair sheep, our lamb is a lean meat with an exceptional, mild-flavour (it is the lanolin in the wool that creates the strong muttony taste).
